Lyrics were composed in 2022 during a stay at the Washington Hotel on Washington Island, WI. Recording began in September 2022 and completed in November 2023. Mastered by Anna Frick at Ally Mastering. Rick Nass of Prairie Du Sac, WI played pedal steel guitar. All other instruments played by Diamond Jim, except drums programmed in EZ Drummer 3. The song was first performed live at the Dar Williams song workshop in Stoughton, Wi in 2022.
